Jax Pasimio’s latest oeuvre is a reconnaissance on concept and presentation. Flowers and leaves in art are deemed symbols of beauty, growth, and passion; from an existential standpoint, they can also be a visual metaphor for life and death. Jax explores these symbols and portrays them in an intricate display of zealous blooms.

“Floreatis” is a visual opera of flourishing nature, and an interplay between figuration and abstraction. Veering away from the traditional brush strokes, the artist applies her signature technique of pointillism, a painting style created by dotting paint on the canvas with great precision and endurance. The result bears a striking illustration of nature and its muse, wherein the audience can take in and appreciate the comprehensive details comprising dotted patterns of bold color and form.  

In essence, “Floreatis” hopes to deliver notions of serenity found in the comforting nuances of nature. American essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson summates this idea by stating, “Adopt the pace of nature. Her secret is patience.” Jax Pasimio is empowered by this principle, as she believes that we should take a pause from our daily undertakings and breathe – take a breath in all the beauty surrounding us, in the little moments from the natural chaos of life.

Jax Pasimio is a graduate of Behavioral Science from De La Salle University. Pasimio also finished a short Digital Arts course from the First Academy of Computer Arts. As a visual artist, she states that her source of inspiration comes from the interconnection of human patterns with the outside world. Elaborate motifs, vibrant colors, and intricate detailing are all hallmarks of her visual style.

Pasimio’s works are constantly showcased in various local group exhibitions since 2015. She is currently a member of Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (ANG INK) and is one of Galerie Joaquin’s represented artists.
